Natural stones such as marble, travertine and limestone wear with use. Normal foot traffic and excessively harsh cleaning procedures cause the stone to dull and lose its luster.

You may be harming your stone without even realizing. Grit carried on shoes works like sandpaper on marble or limestone. Liquids containing acid will etch the surface of your stone, causing dull "water spots" that can't be wiped away. Since your stone is porous, it can easily absorb oil, food products, rust and other contaminants.

At Elite Marble Restoration, we offer the following services to restore and refinish your natural stone:

Grinding: A very aggressive process using metal-bonded and diamond grit to remove deep scratches and lippage (uneven tile edges).

Honing: Similar to grinding, but not as aggressive. The grits and materials used in the honing process are not as coarse as those used when grinding.

Polishing: Completed after the honing phase. Polishing is the process that will create the "mirror like" finish characteristic of natural stone surfaces.

Sealing: The process in which a high-quality protective sealant is applied to the stone. An impregnator sealer is designed to penetrate into the surface of the stone. Penetrating sealers work by restricting the absorption of water, oil and dirt from within the stone. Whenever stone is ground, honed, or polished, the surface should be sealed immediately to ensure protection from contaminates.

Cleaning: Special cleaners are used to remove dirt, stains, waxes and polymers that have become embedded causing your flooring to look less than desirable.

Color Enhancing: The use of penetrating sealers/impregnators formulated to enrich the color of your stone.

Tile & Grout Cleaning: Dirt loves to hide in sanded grout. Proper cleaning can remove most, if not all the soil hidden in the microscopic pores.

Top Polishing: Even granite can lose its luster over time. Top polishing restores your granite to a factory (or better) finish.

Seam Polishing: If you have a seam in your granite that looks less than desirable, we can fill and polish it out so your slab looks like one seamless piece of stone. Colour matching is also available depending on the type of stone.

Crack Repair: We repair cracks and chips in both marble and granite.

Concrete Polishing: Commercial and residential. Concrete can be cut, polished or colored if desired.
